木曜日は、先日できたお友達と英会話の、クラブに行ってきました！
公立図書館で無料で開催している英会話の授業です(*^^*)
ウエストバレー図書館というところ。
16:00-17:30まで。
でもその前に、友達だけでお茶のみながら英語で話そうという時間があり、私もそのお友達について行きました。
台湾人、韓国人、日本人で6人で隣のモールでお喋り。美味しかったレストランの話や、大学で取ってる授業の話、台湾料理の話しなど普段の会話を英語で。
こういう時間が一番伸びるかもですね。
ここで1時間強話した後、本番の図書館へ。
この日は13人ほどいました。
エジプト、チュニジア、韓国、日本、台湾、インドなどなど様々です。
インド人の先生が中心で、この日のトピックは病院へ電話で予約するところから自分の症状を伝える場面。
知らないイディオムや表現が出てきてとても為になりました。
他にも金曜はクパチーノ図書館でも無料であるそうです。ここは小グループに分かれて会話がメイン。
次回行ってみたいですね

Gombei Tofu
I found a great Tofu in Mitsuwa, San Jose.
It`s Gombei Tofu
アメリカで絹のお豆腐を買っても、木綿のように固いものが多くてなかなか
やわらかい絹のお豆腐に出会えませんでした。
I had not been able to find a soft-texture Tofu since I came here.
They are hard to bite compared with Japanese one.
しかし、この掬い豆腐。SUKUI TOFU
日本で掬い豆腐と言ったら卵豆腐みたいに直ぐに崩れ落ちるイメージがありましたが
このSUKUI TOFUは日本の絹のお豆腐みたいな食感です！
But this Tofu was different. It says “SUKUI TOFU”
In Japan, we think SUKUI TOFU is too soft to catch with chopsticks but this one here is like a KINU TOFU that I have been looking for!
ここにネギたれをかけていただきました！美味しかった！
次回から、冷奴で食べる時はこれを選びます(^^)
I had it with sauce of leeks and sesami oil, whit was so good!
I`ll buy this Tofu when I want to have cold one.

やってもらう前は鳥の糞だらけだった車(笑)
終わったらピッカピカの新車みたい！水滴や洗剤の跡も全くなし。 満足です★

金曜日の夜はステーキを食べにいきました！お店の名前はBlack Angus.
I went to a steak house”Black Angus” at Milpitas with my husband last Friday.
前から食べに行きたかったステーキ。チェーン店だけど結構美味しいよと夫。
I was so excited cause I wanted to go to a steak restaurant since I came here.
入ったら３０－４０分待ち！でもせっかく来たし、金曜夜だし待ちました。
すごく人気のお店ですね。
We had to wait for 30-40 mints! It is so popular!
My image of steaks in America is chewy and tough but here was not.
ステーキに前菜2品ついてきます。私は蒸したブロッコリーとサラダを。
夫はマッシュポテトとサラダ。
でも半端なく量が多くて、
The steak menu has two appetizers, we can choose.
I took steamed broccoli and salad. Mu husband did mushed potato and salad.
But they are too much for us so we took some home.
It`s normal to take them home if we can`t eat all. In Japan, we don`t do that, usually.
たまに外食もいいですね！周りの人たちの観察ができて面白いし、
I enjoyed myself. I like the atmosphere as well, comparing with it at home and I could know the recipes of some foods here.
I wanna come here again!
アメリカで生卵が食べられる！？
I can eat raw eggs in America!?
アメリカでは、サルモネラ菌があるとかで生で卵を食べる習慣がありません。
I heard they don`t eat raw eggs because of salmonella.
こないだもすき焼きをしましたが、生卵は諦めて茹で卵を入れました(笑)
We did Sukiyaki, Japanese food, but we did`t use raw eggs. We had boiled eggs, instead!
これまで何度かネットで調べましたが、やっぱりやめておいた方が良いという記事やコメントが多かったので、諦めかけていたところ
偶然にも生卵について書かれた記事を発見！
I searched sometime on the internet about raw eggs in America but they say it`s dangerous to eat it as it is.
So I almost gave up… but at the same time I found a article about the eating raw eggs in America!
それをきっかけにいろいろと調べていくと・・・
It says…
・ミツワスーパーに「地鶏の卵」と書いてある紙パックの卵がある！
There are in MITSUWA super market, saying 「地鶏の卵Jidori tamago, containing in a paper box.
・ホールフーズWholefoodsのpasture raised egg は食べられる！
We can eat “Pasture raised egg” at Wholefoods.
と書いてありました。
Pasture raised とは？何か調べたところ
What is “pasture raised”?
放牧地で育てられた卵のことだそうですね！
Eggs which are raised in meadows.
そして、卵のクオリティはこれまではAとかAAとかを基準に決めていましたが、それよりもこちらの方がより詳しくらしいです。
特に記載なし→Cage Free → Range Free → Pasture Raised の順に基準が上がっていくそうです。
The egg quality is as follows…. low to high.
Nothing written→Cage Free→Range Free→Pasture Raised
生卵をごはんにかけてたべたい！と夫と言っていたことが実現しそうです・・(^^)

My husband dream (my dream as well) “I want to eat white rice with raw egg and soy sauce” will come true soon?!
This is a seasoning which we put on white rice. I want to use it soon!
I wanna go to MITSUWA or Wholefoods on next Saturday or Sunday!
